Tina Russell
Corporate Director for Children & Young People
Hello, my name is Tina, and I have been the Corporate Director for Children’s Services in Herefordshire since June 2024. This was my second term as a Director of Children Services having first been appointed as a director of Children’s Services in Worcestershire in February 2021. I’ve had the pleasure and pride of leading both authorities from an inadequate judgement to an overall Ofsted judgement of “Good” with an additional “Outstanding Leadership” here in Herefordshire.
Having worked in the field of Children’s Care and Protection in one form or another since I was 18 years old, and having celebrated my 60th birthday in January 2026, I have completed 42 years in this field of work. This has given me a great range and depth of experience which I was pleased to bring to this role. Since joining Herefordshire I have been overwhelmed and impressed by the passion, commitment and support I have received from the Senior leadership team to frontline workers within the Children’s Services and from key personnel across the council who have really come together to achieve that great Ofsted outcome.
